7 Best Operating Systems Preferred By Hackers

We live in the online environment and all our important assets like cash, data are transferred online and there is every possibility of data being caught by an professional hacker. Hackers are always looking for opportunity to grab your precious details without identifying the culprit.

Some hackers do this just for mere pleasure whereas some break into the system and get paid for this false work. So, now arise the point about which operating system is used by these hackers? Since most of the operating systems used for hacking purpose are Linux kernel based, so Linux is favorite operating system. Here, we will list out the operating system used by these professionals:

1. Kali Linux: It is one of the best operating system for hackers. It is geared with different tools that are used to accomplish tasks such as Penetration Testing, Security Research and Reverse Engineering. Kali Linux updates its tools and available for platform like VMWare, ARM etc. Also installation of different security tools like Hydra, Nmap, Wireshark etc. Make it different from other operating systems.

2. Parrot Security: Designed for penetration testing, vulnerability assessment and mitigation, this is also favorite operating system for hackers. It uses kali repositories to update its tools.

3. BackBox: Being a lightweight OS, it require less hardware specification. Backbox has its own repositories and are known as hacking tool. Integration and development of new tools follow open source community.

4. DEFT Linux: It is full form as Digital Evidence and Forensic Toolkit. It was built with the purpose of running live on systems without tempering or corrupting devices like hard disk, pen drive etc.

5. Live Hacking OS: This DVD is full of tools and utilities for ethical hacking, penetration testing etc. The OS runs directly from DVD and need not require to install on hard drive. On successfully boot, you can use the tools to test, check, hack or perform penetration testing on your own network. The distribution comes in two forms: A full Linux Desktop with GNOME and application like Firefox with tools for DNS enumeration, foot-printing, password cracking, network sniffing. Second variation is command line base.

6. NodeZero: It is an open source Linux Kernel based operating system that uses Ubuntu repositories, so that your system will always remain up to date. NodeZero is available with 300 tools and runs on computer with support for both 32 bit and 64 bit instruction set architecture.

7. Pentoo: It can be used as Live CD or Live USB with aim for penetration testing. It is basically Gentoo version with Pentoo overlay. This newly released version is available for 32 bit as well as 64 bit version.

Top 6 Differences between IPV4 and IPV6

Internet technology has revolutionized the world and when someone talks about it, there arise a question. What IP address is your service provider using? Is it IPV4 or IPV6 and the need to shift to IPV6.

Back Story of IPv4 and IPv6:

IPv4 was initially deployed with ARPANET in 1983. It has number of address with a limit of around 4.3 billion addresses. With the more use of mobiles and smartphones, people now require double the amount of addresses that were needed till year 2000 and this need of more IP addresses result in existance of IPv6. While IP address were limited to being four 1 byte number in IPv4, IPv6 used 128 bit for IP address, thus making them go from (192.168.1.1) to (fe80:d4a8:6435:d2d8:d9f3b11).

Difference:
IPv4 used Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to configure IP address every time it connect to internet. Whereas IPv6 support a revised DHCPv6 protocol that support stateful auto-configuration of nodes.

IPv4:

1. 576 byte packet size is required with optional fragmentation.
2. Two Packet fragmentation are: Router and sending hosts.
3. Initially IPv4 was designed for isolated military network and not with intention of security.
4. IPv4 header has 20 bytes and many fields .
5. ISP have both connectivity IPv4 and IPv6.

IPv6:

1. 1280 byte packet size was required with fragmentation.
2. Fragmentation was sending hosts only in this protocol.
3. This IPv6 protocol was designed with strong security like encryption and authentication.
4. IPv6 header has 40 bytes with limit to 8 fields.
5. Many ISP don’t have IPv6 connectivity.

Google End Support For NOODP Robots Directive & DMOZ Description

Finally Google has announced that it will no longer support using description and title from one of the old directory website DMOZ. Though, it was officially closed a few month ago. So, for Google to use title and description from the dead directory does not make sense.

Google should stop using support from this directory years ago, because this directory was not able to keep their links updated. That might be the reason that causes DMOZ directory to shut down.

Officially Google said:

With DMOZ now closed, we've stopped using its listings for snippeting, so it's a lot more important that webmasters provide good meta descriptions, if adding more content to the page is not an option.

Google also said that after closing of DMOZ directory, NOODP directory is already no-op. Google began supporting the noodp directive in 2006 and used DMOZ descriptions since then. So, this is one of the historical moment for Google.

Steps Require To Avoid Faulty Microsoft Windows 10 Internal Build

Microsoft is known for it’s bungled updates and patches, but due to some error, recently Microsoft released internal build windows 10 to users. The main problem with this build was that it was in testing phase and never meant to be released. Window 10 automatically updates the releases that Microsoft issues. The same thing happened to this build release and members of Windows 10 Insider program automatically updated and bricks their PC/Laptops.

The issue was first noticed MSPowerUser which reported that PC/Laptops which update faulty updates. Microsoft accidentally rolled out Windows 10 build 16212 for 32 bit PC and phones running Windows 10. This internal build was meant for internal testing by Microsoft engineers and was not even an alpha version. Generally companies gives beta version for testing of bugs and errors.

Some users reported that their PCs/Laptops went to boot loop after getting this update. Even Windows 10 mobile users also went to boot loop and require devices to Resetting.

Steps to Avoid This Faulty Build:

To avoid this issue, you can either sit tight and wait for us to publish new build or can roll back to previous build via Setting>>Update and Security>>Recovery and then check inside program settings.

Note: You can roll back to the previous Windows Version with in 10 days if you have not done disk cleanup.
